MPD Alerting Kia and Hyundai Owners
A recent Tik-Tok and social media challenge has made car thieves aware of a security flaw in Kia and Hyundai models from 2010-2022. Our friends at Worcester PD have seen 36 such models stolen since November 1st 2023.
The flaw in question allows access to the ignition system, giving those committing the crime easy, minimal damage access to the vehicle.
As always we recommended keeping your vehicles locked and parked in secure, well lit areas.
