MILFORD MAN CHARGED WITH LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT THAT DESTROYED BIKE PATH FENCE

MILFORD — On January 1, 2026, at approximately 8:00AM, the Milford Parks Department reported heavy damage to the fence along the Fino Field section of the Upper Charles Walking Trail. A review property CCTV footage showed a dark-colored Dodge Ram pick-up truck operating erratically and drifting across the Fino Field parking lot before colliding with the wooden fence. Following the collision, the operator of the vehicle fled the scene without notifying police.

On January 5, 2026, using a series of law enforcement investigative technology, Milford Police Detectives identified the suspect vehicle as a 2015 Black Dodge Ram owned by Luis Oliveira, 57, of Milford, MA. At approximately 5:00PM, Milford Police Detectives spoke to Patrik Veiga Oliveira, 20, of Milford, MA, who admitted to being the operator of the vehicle involved in the accident.

“I am proud of the Milford Police Detective Bureau and the hours of investigating it took to bring this case to a conclusion.” Stated Milford Chief of Police Robert Tusino, “This type of careless and reckless operation of a vehicle showed a complete disregard for the safety and property of others.”

Patrik Veiga Oliveira has been charged with the following:
NEGLIGENT OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE
LEAVE SCENE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY, WANTON

Officer Laporta began a journey in Law Enforcement as a member of the Milford Police Department’s Explorer program. He later moved on to a career in Public Safety Telecommunications before fulfilling his life long goal of being a full-time Police Officer for the Uxbridge Police Department.

THREE SUSPECTS CHARGED IN VIOLENT ASSAULT AND ROBBERY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MONDAY DECEMBER 29th 2025

MILFORD — On Saturday November 29, 2025, at approximately 3:20AM, the Milford Public Safety Communications received an emergency call for a possible fight in progress near East Main Street and Middleton Street. On arrival, officers located a 21-year-old-male with injuries to his face. The victim reported he had been assaulted and robbed by multiple assailants.

As a result of the investigation by the Milford Police Patrol Division and Milford Police Detective Bureau, investigators were able to identify Christian George, 26, of Milford, Mikayla Sousa, 24, of Milford and Jaryn Platt, 36, of Worcester as involved suspects.

At 3:25PM, Mikayla Sousa was interviewed at the Milford Police Department and subsequently arrested.

On Monday December 1, 2025, Jaryn Platt turned himself in to Milford District Court.

On Friday December 26, 2025, at 9:01PM, Christian George was apprehended on warrant charges related to the assault.
