All vehicles parked on-street during this time will be TICKETED AND TOWED. The gas leak has been shut off and the building has been clear with zero gas readings found inside the building.
Students are being kept warm in buses and will be let back into school momentarily.

Emergency crews are currently tending to a gas leak near Woodland School located at 10 North Vine Street.
The school has been evacuated and there are no illnesses reported.
The on-street parking ban for the Town of Milford is lifted effective immediately. Vehicles that have been left in the municipal lots must be removed as soon as possible to allow those lots to be cleared.

MILFORD — On Monday February 23, 2026, at approximately 10:57 a.m., the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a call reporting a disturbance near 270 Main Street in Milford. The caller reported a male had brandished what looked to be a pistol and made threats to “leave him bleeding”.
Arriving minutes after the call, officers found a male known to them as Dominick Cristino, 60, of Upton, MA yelling at two occupants of a white Dodge Ram truck. On-scene Cristino refused to cooperate with the investigation, refusing to follow officers’ commands.
In speaking to the victim, it was determined the caller was attempting to drop a vehicle off to a customer at 270 Main Street when Cristino approached him and his passenger and became verbally aggressive yelling for them to “Go back to Brazil” and that he was going to shoot them.
At 11:12 a.m., Dominick Cristino was arrested and brought to the Milford Police Department for booking.
During the booking process Cristino continued to be disruptive by yelling racial slurs at the officers. While being searched, Cristino pulled away from officers and stripped his clothes off exposing his genitalia and spread his nude buttocks to the officers.
When put into the jail cell for holding, Cristino attempted to flood the cell floors, obstruct the monitoring cameras and once again exposed his genitalia and opened buttocks to the camera.
Cristino was charged with the following before being released on bail:
· CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATION
· ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON
· THREAT TO COMMIT A CRIME
· DISORERLY CONDUCT
· OPEN AND GROSS LEWDNESS
· DISTURBING THE PEACE (SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE)
· INDECENT EXPOSURE

MILFORD — On Sunday, February 22, 2026, at approximately 4:37 p.m., the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call from an individual reporting a person known to them had attempted to stab them.
Officers arrived at the residence on Fells Avenue at approximately 4:39 p.m., where they encountered a male later identified as Alexandre Leite. Leite initially told officers that no disturbance had occurred at the residence.
Officers then spoke with the reporting party inside the home, who stated that Leite had grabbed a large kitchen knife and threatened to kill both the caller and members of their family. A struggle over the knife ensued before the reporting party was able to get to safety. Leite then exited the residence.
At approximately 4:55 p.m., Alexandre Leite, 52, of Milford, was placed under arrest without further incident.
Leite has been charged with the following offenses:
· Assault with Intent to Murder
· Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife)
· Assault and Battery on a Household Member
· Threats to Commit a Crime
· Warrant Arrest
Leite is currently being held on $10,000 bail at the Milford Police Department pending arraignment in Milford District Court.
A reminder to all Milford residents and commuters. The on-street parking ban remains in effect until further notice. Beginning Wednesday February 25, 2026, at 9PM the Milford Highway Department will begin snow removal operations.
These removal operations are critical to widen narrow roadways, clear school sidewalks and increase safe travel following the storm. When removal operations are happening, certain streets will see short term closings. When the parking ban is in effect, we often attempt to courtesy locate vehicle owners before towing, during these snow removal operations vehicles will immediately be towed.
We encourage all Milford drivers to remain vigilant when driving and seek off-street parking in any of the town owned municipal lots. Thank you for your cooperation.
