ERRATIC MOPED OPERATION COMPLAINT LEADS TO TWO ARRESTS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TUESDAY JULY 17TH 2025

MILFORD — On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at approximately 3:15 PM, the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a report of a male operating what appeared to be an off-road motorbike in an erratic manner on Whitney Street. The caller stated the rider was not wearing a helmet and had nearly struck their vehicle.

While responding to the call, a Milford Police officer observed two males — one matching the suspect’s description — operating what appeared to be a moped on South Bow Street. As the officer attempted to turn around to investigate, the suspects abandoned the moped in the roadway on Claflin Street and were seen fleeing on foot behind 2 Claflin Street, climbing over a fence near the Blair House.

At approximately 3:58 PM, members of the Milford Police Patrol Division located Pedro Ferreira Da Silva, 19, of Milford, and a juvenile male near the train tracks off Central Street. Following an on-scene field interview, both individuals were placed under arrest.
Ferreira Da Silva is charged with the following:

WALK/RIDE TRESPASS ON A RAILROAD TRACK
OPERATING WITH A SUSPENDED LICENSE
UNREGISTERED MOTOR VEHICLE
UNINSURED MOTOR VEHICLE
