MAN CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE FELONIES AFTER EARLY MORNING BREAK-IN

MILFORD – On Monday April 27, 2026, at approximately 1:17AM, the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call from a resident reporting her husband was confronting a male that was attempting to steal his van from their residence on Hayward Street.

As officers were enroute to the disturbance, the caller informed the Communications Officer that the suspect had fled on foot onto East Main Street.

At 1:26AM, officers located a male matching the description given by the caller near the intersection of East Main and Plain Street. As a result of the on-scene investigation Cristian Romero, 24, of Milford, MA was placed under arrest.

In the hours following the arrest, multiple victims in the area came forward reporting larcenies and entries into their vehicles during the night.

“Officers responded quickly as the report of the vehicle owner struggling with the suspect came into our communications center.” Said Milford Chief of Police Robert Tusino. “I’m thankful that our officers were able to safely capture the suspect before any more homes or vehicles were burglarized.”
