MILFORD POLICE LOCATE MISSING CHILD FOLLOWING SWIFT RESPONSE

MILFORD – On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 3:35 PM, the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call from a woman residing on Sidney Road reporting she was unable to locate her 1-year-old son. Communications personnel promptly dispatched resources while attempting to obtain additional information from the distraught caller.

Officers from the Milford Police Patrol Division arrived on scene within minutes, at 3:38 PM, but were unable to locate the missing boy in the apartment or surrounding area.

Within minutes of the initial officers’ arrival, 14 members of the Milford Police Department—including personnel from the Patrol Division, Detective Bureau, K-9 Unit, and drone operators responded to assist in the search.

At 3:58 PM, the missing child was safely located within the 304-unit apartment complex.

“Our officers train regularly for incidents like this where every second counts.” Commented Milford Chief of Police Robert Tusino. “Time and resources are priceless when it comes to the preservation of a child’s life. I am thankful for the quick actions of our communications staff and the coordinated response of our patrol, detectives, and specialized units; because of this we were able to see a safe conclusion to a potentially disastrous situation.“
