FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 28TH 2026
MILFORD – On Tuesday October 27, 2026, at approximately 6:50PM, the Milford Police Department received information of a stolen 2008 gray Toyota Corolla in our town.
At 7:10PM Officer Austin Chapski of the Milford Police Patrol Division observed a gray Corolla operating at a high rate of speed through the Target parking lot located at 250 Fortune Boulevard. Following a near collision with another vehicle and confirmation that the vehicle was the stolen vehicle in question, the officer enacted a motor vehicle stop.
At 7:11PM as Officer Chapski exited his vehicle, the operator of the stolen vehicle quickly exited the Corolla, fleeing the scene on-foot moments later. With back-up still en route, Officer Chapski pursued the suspect on-foot and took him into custody without further incident as additional units and K-9 Ozzy arrived to assist.
Officers identified the suspect as Edwin Santana, 49, of Milford, Massachusetts. In addition to operating the stolen motor vehicle, Santana had an active warrant for his arrest for a probation violation related to indecent A&B on a person 14 or over.
“I’d like to commend our officers for their professionalism and restraint in bringing this wanted individual to custody without further incident.” Said Milford Chief of Police Robert Tusino.
