MILFORD POLICE CAPTURE ARIZONA SHOOTING SUSPECT

MILFORD — On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at approximately 11:04 a.m., the Milford Police Department received an informational bulletin from Medway Police Detectives. The bulletin alerted surrounding agencies of an interaction with Giovanni Cardona, 44, of Woonsocket, RI, who is wanted by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona for his involvement in a road rage incident in which he allegedly shot a victim three times before fleeing the scene.
Medway Detectives reported that Cardona was operating a white Toyota Camry bearing Massachusetts livery plates.

At 11:24 a.m., just 20 minutes after receiving the alert, Milford Police Detectives spotted the suspect vehicle traveling inbound on East Main Street. Officers initiated a motor vehicle stop near the intersection of East Main and Cedar Street.

“I’d like to commend the Medway Police Department for their outstanding communication. Inter-agency coordination is one of our greatest strengths,” said Milford Chief of Police Robert Tusino. “The fact that our Detective Bureau located the vehicle within 20 minutes of receiving this information speaks volumes about the dedication and responsiveness of the men and women of the Milford Police Department.”

At 11:27AM, Giovanni Cardona was placed under arrest on the following charges:
AGGREVATED ASSAULT W/ FIREARM (WARRANT)
FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE
