MILFORD – Beginning Monday September 28, 2026, there will be a new traffic pattern at the intersections of Congress Street, Walnut Street and West Walnut Street.
To enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety, the intersection of Congress/Walnut/West Walnut will now be a four-way stop. Each side of this intersection will now have a solar-powered, blinking stop sign.
All equipment for the new pattern was provided by MassDOT as part of their All-Way Stop Control Program.
The MassDOT All-Way Stop Control (AWSC) Program is a safety initiative where the Massachusetts Department of Transportation collaborates with local municipalities to convert high-crash or hazardous two-way stop intersections into four-way all-way stops.
