MILFORD – On Sunday, September 20, 2026, at approximately 4:15AM, the Milford Public Safety Communications Center received an emergency call from a resident on Christina Road reporting an intruder in their home. The caller stated they awoke moments before the call to a male wearing a pink shirt and jeans in their bedroom. After a brief confrontation, the suspect fled the residence prior to officer arrival.
Arriving on scene at 4:18AM, Officer Kevin Heenan spoke to the residents who stated the male entered through an unlocked garage door before making his way into the bedroom. A search with K-9 Ozzie and Special Operations Drone Unit was conducted but yielded negative results.
At approximately 7:00AM, a resident of the area aware of the incident, called the Milford Public Safety Communications Center to report a male matching the description was walking on South Central Street.
Arriving moments after the call, Officer Heenan was able to locate the suspect at the intersection of South Central and Central Street. When Officer Heenan attempted to detain the suspect, the male became combative and attempted to flee. After a brief struggle, Officer Heenan was successfully able to place the suspect, Bruno Ramos, 24, homeless, in custody.
“I’d like to commend the efforts of our patrol division, particularly Officer Kevin Heenan for his restraint and professionalism in bringing this suspect into custody.” Said Milford Chief of Police Robert Tusino. “Crimes of this nature are especially frightening. This is the third time in five months that a Milford resident has awoken to an intruder in their home. We continue to urge our residents to lock the doors to their homes and vehicles.”
Ramos was charged with the following crimes and will face arraignment today.
